La saison 8 animé de Buffy

Buffy and her friends Willow, Alex, etc. were out of the TV a few years ago and I wasn’t the only one sad about that. But Josh Whedon don’t quit that easily he made the 8th season as a comic book and I know fans like me I’ve read it.

The adventure continues with Mister Whedon:

First I thought it was the end for Buffy when it was cancelled, but someday as I was with my friend Edmond Tourriol he gave me a present, the 1st tome of the comic book Buffy the Vampire slayer. The 1st of the 8th season! Man I was so happy.

Josh Whedon was back as a writer along with Fray. But who the hell is Fray? Damn you’re not a fan if you’re asking that! :) Fray was an eight books spin off taking place in the future published by Dark Horse comics.

Melaka Fray, a chosen one in a time where vampires (called « lurks ») are returning to the slums of New York City, and the rich-poor divide is even greater.

This time she is working with the best slayer of all time miss Buffy.

The 8th animated:

But there is other big news for Buffy and co! The comic book is going to be adapted as a motion comics! I’ve talked about Marvel in a past post on this blog doing Motion comics with Spiderwoman and the astonishing X-Men. The principal is very easy to understand:

Basically used on Iphone devices, it’s the actual panel of the comic book shown and animated without any bubbles. Actually actors are taking care of the voices of the characters.

So it’s a different business model, but a lot of companies are taking a look at this new opportunity.

The 8th season will be followed by another one, but we don’t know yet if it’s going to be adapted as a motion comics. Wait and see!
